PROJECT 45

VOICES

These are a few of the voices we collected while on the streets of D.C. We asked questions that were intentionally open ended. We did not look for answers to questions, so to record the voices of the people.

Why are you here?

What brought you out here today? Why are you here? What motivated you to get here? These are the questions that we asked nearly everyone we met in D.C. It’s important to know the why behind the protests, celebrations and general happenings.

What are your thoughts on the outgoing administration?

After eight years of the Obama administration people had a variety of reflections on the experience. We wondered what the people remembered and how they remembered it. How do people remember the past eight years?

What are your thoughts on the incoming administration?

The incoming Trump administration had one of the longest public visibility periods in recent American history. After nearly two years of campaigning and five decades of public visibility what did people think of the incoming President, Donald Trump?

What are your fears?

What concerns worry those preparing for the new administration? During his time as a candidate, Donald Trump was no stranger to controversy. What potential reforms or lack there of concerned the people we met in DC?

What are your hopes?

What did this campaign inspire? What did the candidates say that stirred up hope for a brighter tomorrow? We wanted to understand what kind of a country people hope to live in. What are the visions for America’s future?
